Regina Shestakova - Martin
Director of Music / Accompanist
Regina was an accompanist at Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet since 1979. At that time she was also an accompanist for the National Ballet Competitions. From 1985 to 1996 she was a concertmaster at Kirov Ballet. She performed in movies and documentaries for the Russian television and the BBC ("Leningrad Legend", directed by Natalya Makarova, 1989). She graduated in 1997 from the Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet, St. Petersburg, as a Professional Ballet Concertmaster.
From 1996 to 2005 Mrs. Martin was Music Director and Company Pianist at Ballet Internationale and Clara Noyes Academy, Indianapolis. Her work was featured in the "Favorite Classics of Ballet" CD. In 2005 Regina was a pianist for ballet classes and rehearsals for the American Ballet Theatre, Steps on Broadway, Peridance, Ballet Academy East in New York, "Kings of the Dance" Ardani Artists’ show project with Angel Corella, Ethan Steifel, Johan Kobborg, Nikolai Tsiskaridze.
Regina Martin has been with the Kirov Academy since 2006.
