Alexandra Tomalonis is a dance critic whose reviews have appeared regularly in the Washington Post since 1979. Her articles have also appeared in Dance Magazine, Ballet Review, Dance International, Dance Now and other publications. She is founder-editor of DanceView magazine and its weekly online review supplement, www.danceviewtimes.com, and is the author of Henning Kronstam: Portrait of a Danish Dancer, University Press of Florida, 2002.
Ms. Tomalonis received a B.A. (American Studies) from the University of Virginia, and a Master's Degree from Georgetown University's Liberal Studies program. She has taught dance history and aesthetics at George Washington University and George Mason University and lectured at the Smithsonian, Kennedy Center, and Wolf Trap Performing Art Center.
